Thank you to all of the fine people who volunteered on December 16, 2007 to make the Fairfax Holiday event so full of community cheer. We couldn't have been happier to bring our Zero Waste education station, recycled giftmaking, green gifts and sustainable holiday tips to Fairfax Volunteer's Holiday Event.
Our community is very lucky to have so many dedicated people among us!! These events take a great deal of planning preparation and actual work in order to be fun for everyone!
We would like to send a special thanks to: Teri Meadows, Renee Goddard, Rachel DeMicco, Kathleen Lanpheir, Elizabeth Baker, and our two new interns from Drake's Sea Disc Program Camille and Julia. If you know these people please thank them personally because being a volunteer is a gift to your community.
Our goal was to make this a Zero Waste event. With 150 people in attendance we walked away with only 3/4 of one bin going to the landfill which was a great accomplishment! Thanks to Chad's for providing compostable dinnerware.
Of course we could have done it without all of the incredible and vivacious volunteers at Fairfax Volunteers and the totally amazing Marin Conservation Corps for being in charge of the recycled giftmaking.
