Make Your Mom a Wormbin

wormbin1.jpg

On Saturday, May 10th at the Sustainability Center, children learned about how worms can turn garbage into garden gold!

Participants looked at the worm bin at Sustainable Fairfax and from that nailed together their own worm bin kit. They talked about the proper care of their worms, and learned the secrets of making worm tea.

There were two ways they participated in this class:

1.  They attended to learn, without taking home a wormbin for $5-10.
2. They made their own wormbin with our kit and assistance. . The kit included everything they needed to make a worm bin constructed of plywood approx. 3'x 1.5'x 2' and enough worms to get you started.
