How do we plan and create a thriving Post-Carbon Marin and Post-Carbon Fairfax? On August 14th, 2008, participants joined  us for an evening with some of the world's leading experts on the dual impacts of climate change, and peaking oil, as they analyzed the preparedness of Marin's communities. We learned how to get our home, life and business ready for climate change, soaring gas prices and potential energy supply disruptions.

Panelists included Warren Karlenzig, author of How Green is Your City? and Julian Darley, President of the Post Carbon Institute (www.postcarbon.org). Moderated by our Town Council member Larry Bragman.

The Post Carbon Institute manages efforts in 175 communities across North America to prepare their people's homes, lives and businesses for climate change, soaring gas prices and potential energy supply disruptions.

Darley is also the author of High Noon for Natural Gas: The New Energy Crisis and the forthcoming Relocalization Handbook. Warren Karlenzig, president of Common Current (www.commoncurrent.com), has worked with the European Union, the White House, the State of California and communities on developing sustainability metrics, plans and projects, and is also the author of Blueprint for Greening Affordable Housing.
