What would we eat if all the grocery stores disappeared?
Could we survive in the wild just by eating what nature provides?
On September 27th, 2008,Naturalists educators and survival enthusiasts Mia Andler and Sky Snyder facilitated a wild wander on the lesser trafficked trails of Deer Park. During this family friendly event, particpants learned how to harvest and prepare wild foods. By the end of this walk, those who participated learned of the incredible health benefits and experienced the unique flavours of some of the most common edible plants in the Fairfax area. They also discovered which plants not to eat or even touch and provide some tools for finding out more about wilderness survival and wild foods.
