Join us for our Sustainability Corps Certification Training
When: Saturday March 6th & Sunday March 7th, 2009
Time: 9:00am-3:00pm
Location: Sustainability Center at 141 Bolinas Rd. Fairfax
Participants will learn about global and
local sustainability issues. Learn how to become an advocate and
resource to educate and inspire others. Finally be inspired yourself,
by like-minded people devoted to creating a better future for
ourselves, our children and the earth!
Our training features big picture sustainable actions with Andres Edwards, author of Sustainability
Revolution and a history of Sustainable Fairfax local actions. The SFx Board
of Directors will be on hand to engage volunteers in current initiatives.
This
training is the launch of our Sustainability Corps Certification Program( 2010_sustainability_corps_).
This will give you an
opportunity to become certified by Sustainable Fairfax at levels that
show your are well-versed in sustainability issues and highly skilled
in
inspiration, education, and revolution. Please join us by filling out
the corps_application and returning it to the address below. We ask that all trainees become members of the organization by clicking this link.
Both days are required and space is limited. You must register!!

educational group dedicated to preserving and regenerating the social,
economic and environmental well-being of our town.

"Graduates" will become members of the Sustainable Fairfax Volunteer Corps -- a group of highly valued team members who are committed to preserving and regenerating our town, for ourselves and the future.

Our goal is to build a reliable base of support for all of the wonderful resources we're providing to our local community. This inspiring workshop is provided free of charge, but participants are required to join Sustainable Fairfax ($30per individual, $60 per household). You Must Register!

Sustainable Fairfax is one of the first groups in Marin to pioneer sustainability, with a legacy of educating the town council, supporting the community,
providing services to the town, and conducting educational events since
1999. Through our work, we’ve come to realize that sustainability
is not just an end goal, but also an approach to decision making. Learn more about 
When Ray Martin opened the Scoop in 2001, he was the first Bay Area entrepreneur to sell organic ice cream flavored with sustainably sourced and local ingredients, such as on organic ice cream base from Straus organic creamery in Marshall, strawberries from Russ Sartori's farm in Tomales, raspberries from Mt. Barnabe Farms in San Geronimo, lavender and honey grown in West Marin. Fairfax Scoop has gone on to become one of Marin's hottest destinations for ice cream served in cookie-like, waffled cones and cups made fresh, on the premises, also from organic ingredients. A dozen flavors are served at any time; these always include one soy ice cream and one sorbet.
