Volunteer

There are many ways to volunteer with Sustainable Fairfax and have fun while you do your part to make our town and its' sphere of influence more sustainable.

Join Our Volunteer Corps

We want you to be the change that you want to see in the world by becoming a part of the Sustainable Fairfax Volunteer Corps! Trainings are heal twice a year. To get involved right now check out our committee listings below.

Participate in a 2 day training with Sustainable Fairfax staff and Andres Edwards, Author of the book Sustainability Revolution or Warren Karlenzig author of How Green is Your City? The training includes a Sustainability 101 course, team building exercises, work on the Sustainable Fairfax Community Plan, and the skills to become a catalyst for education and positive change.

Once you are trained you will be able to help staff the Sustainability Center. We ask that each volunteer spend 4 hours per month working at the Center on a flexible schedule. You will be learning and educating the community with resources provided for living a more sustainable lifestyle.

Contact Pam Hartwell-Herrero to find out when the next training is and to sign up..

iron_springs.gif After much hard work Iron Springs has now become a Green Certified Business by the Marin County Community Development Agency. We now will continue to strive to operate the most Green friendly Brewpub that we possibly can. Next step-Sustainable Business Certification.

Iron Springs just completed another phase of our goal of reducing our footprint on the world by completing our new lighting retrofit. This energy conservation measure will save 13,345 kwh/yr, 3.210 kw, and reduce the emission of carbon dioxide {co2} into the atmosphere by 6,939 lbs/yr. We continue to seek out and explore new ways of running the most energy efficient, low impact business, that we possibly can.

What does this mean?
